3 ways to add style to your childs’ room this summer

Disclosure: I received two complimentary canvas wall art from Oopsy Daisy, and two additional to giveaway to one reader, all opinions are my own

Every season I love to alternate my children’s bedrooms with new decor and fun wall prints. This time around I was on the hunt for cool bedroom themes that we all would agree on. During my search for canvas prints for my children’s bedrooms, I discovered the most adorable fine art prints company, Oopsy Daisy. They were kind enough to offer me two wall prints, one for my son’s room and the other for my daughter’s room. Plus they were generous enough to offer two additional wall art for my readers, one lucky reader will receive this adorable wall print by Rauri The Lion by Meghann O’Hara, 10X10. Retail Value: $49.00 as well as this wall art Zoey The Zebra by Meghann O’Hara, 10X10. Retail Value: $49.00 which I will do a giveaway here on my blog. How adorable are they?

As for my boys’ wall art, we went with the Train Station by Jill Mcdonald which fit perfectly with the color scheme of my boys’ room. The vibrant colors complimented my boys’ room so well. As for my daughter’s room, we received this beautiful fox wall art that couldn’t have been a more perfect fit. We loved the pastel colors and how it added a feminine touch to her room. Sometimes it’s hard to find a happy medium for all of my children, but they ended up loving how their rooms came out. With three children, I try my best to stay within a certain budget and make sure they have a room where they feel comfortable and satisfied with. I am pretty sure we achieved that this time around.

With summer quickly approaching I wanted to freshen up my children’s room with minor changes. I know with these simple tips any parent can add style to their children’s bedrooms.

My number one tip, when redecorating or updating your kids’ bedroom, is to purchase pieces that you will use for years to come so that it’s a long-term investment. Choose furniture that will grow with them and that you can redecorate easily. Even though some furniture pieces may be expensive, it will withstand them during their childhood. By choosing neutral colors for their rooms, you can always update them as they grow. It’s always fun to update rooms that fit their future personalities and age as they get older.

Here are three ways to freshen up your kids’ bedrooms this summer:

1. Add fresh bedding,

By adding a comforter with colorful patterns it can add a fresh look that will bring out your child’s personality, I loved this floral comforter from Target. I knew I wanted to decorate my daughter’s room with certain pastel colors, so I figured this would be the perfect look.

2. Add fun details

Adding throw pillows, geometrically printed curtains, flowers, fairy lights, and of course their favorite characters. My girl happens to love American Girl dolls,  Journey girl, and emojis.

3. Clean carpets

I don’t know about you, but I always find it a treat to get our carpets cleaned every six months to a year. With so many people coming in and out of our home, it usually leaves behind residue and a funky carpet smell. If you are not up for a carpet cleaning then adding a smell good spray will lessen certain smells that linger throughout the house. My choice of spray that I love is J.R. Watkins Room Spray, Lemon, 4 oz (Pack of 2)

Now for the giveaway, one lucky reader will be chosen by the EOD Wednesday, June 21, 2017. Follow the directions below to be entered into the giveaway. Good Luck!

I have twin girls who share a room and their styles are like night and day. One prefers princess/unicorn type of style all colors of the rainbow. The other twin loves yellow, minions, and monkeys. Its so funny watching the two argue over their style.
